Year of the idiots Does the RIAA want to go out of business? I'm serious this is the biggest sack of crap I've heard in a while. Here's what I have to say about the whole thing. The RIAA thinks that fans will buy more of that artists CDs because they come out with them more often, but I think prices will stay at the $16/CD. This will allow them to pay for lawyers fees to sue thier customers who are only downloading music because it is too dang expensive in the first place.

When I buy a CD, I make sure I like most of the music before I buy it. On my $6/hour 25 hour/week job, $16 is a lot of dough (3 hours of work). So I make sure that I won't be waisting money on something I'll never listen to. Yes, I use iTMS (iTunes Music Store) and MMMS (MusicMatch Music Store) and I love these services. I love previewing the music before I pay out my hard earned money. But I think this whole thing is just a scam by the RIAA to try to make up for money that is going out for court costs. I think they are heading for Chapter 11 but what do I know. Posted by chris at 09:22 PM RIAA • (0) Trackbacks
