Anti-Gmail Bill Approved:[HardOCP]
No G-Mail for Californians. Google is working on a plan right now with the legal folks in California but no headway yet. Oh well, that is about 50 million e-mail accounts the rest of us can use!
The California state Senate on Thursday approved a bill that takes aim at Google's new Gmail service, placing strict limits on e-mail providers seeking to scan customer messages for advertising and other purposes.
If you don’t like what Google, or any company for that matter, does with their software...don’t use it! No one is making you use the free 1GB e-mail service are they?
That is a bunch of crap. A company can't have a revolutionary system for email just because an anonymous system scans their email for keywords. Bull!
I just don't see how this is different then big brother having black boxes at ISPs to track all incoming and outgoing email. I just don't see how they have any room to talk.
Once I get a code to join GMail I will sure as heck sign up for an account. It soounds pretty seet. I just hope Indiana doesn't get the same heairbrain idea. I blame it all on Arnold...j/k. Posted by chris at 01:32 PM Internet • (0) Trackbacks
