General Update

Just to bring you up to date on what’s up with me.

- About a week ago this site started to get pounded by junk TrackBacks (which I thought might happen when I heard about the technology back in my MT days).  But to keep Google from indexing them I took the site offline.  EE is great software but horrible when it comes to killing SPAM comments and trackbacks.  What you can do is go into the mySQL DB and kill them in there, at least in there you can mass select.  Use phpMyAdmin to do it.

- I love my current job, but I am in talks with another company to get a new job.  I’ve been though 2 interviews, wish me luck on the third.

- I’m loving my new XFX GeForce 6600GT APG video card.  It’s getting me back into PC gaming.  Doom3 rocks, NFSUG 2 looks sweet, FarCry for $20 is there anything hotter?

- I’m looking forward to the baseball season.  To celebrate I’ve reserved MVP Baseball 2006 and Major League Baseball 2k5 at work.  Both on the Xbox, MVP 04 was buggy as crap on the PC and it drove me nuts and I can’t live with that, even after a patch.  The xbox version should rock on live too.  Can’t beat the price wars (enjoy them while they last) MVP is $40 and Major League Baseball 2k5 is $20.

- It’s been warm around here, I can’t wait for the biking season to get underway, I miss getting out on 20 mile rides!  I enjoy working out at the gym but you can’t getting out and riding.  Here’s to a 3000 mile season.  I wrote a PHP program to track my milage, and this year I hope to get my butt into gear and use it.  Maybe if I have time I’ll release it and let other people use it.

- I’m contiplating a Mac Mini, my issue is sure $499 is cheap but then I’ll want an LCD for it and that isn’t cheap.  After using DVI, I don’t think I can switch back to VGA.  It’s that or an iPod, and that’s more in my price range.

- Why am I thinking iPod?  Cause my Zen died.  I beat the daylights out of it and I got 2 good years out of it so I can’t complain, I might throw it on Ebay and get like a few bucks out of it, if you want it leave a comment and we’ll talk numbers.
