Chris' Blog 5.1 I was thinking for HOURS while my ISP was trying to get their service up and running for 2 days (it still isn't up, I am on another ISP). Anyway, I was thinking that this is version 5.1 of my blog! Wanna hear the history? HUH? DO YA? DO YA? DO YA? TOUGH!

V 1.0 - Hand Writen - When I first started thinking about this whole blog thing I didn't know crap about Blogger, MT, GM, or anything thing else. I had CGI access on my site but didn't know how to use it. So I just created a webpage with a my standard template, threw a date at the top of the para graph and babbled on (hasn't changed much huh?). I did that for a few weeks. But after checking the server logs and only seeing my own IP address in there I figured it was useless so I stopped.

V2.0 - Blogger - I started reading Leo Laporte's Blog a few weeks later. He got me into the mood to try the whole blog idea again. Since I didn't know anything about CGI/PERL at the time I tired Leo's old blog software, Blogger. But after a few weeks of that I got tired of their site being down I said "screw this" and looked for a better way.

V3.0 - GreyMatter - I emailed my host (Digitalinet) and asked if I could install GM on my site. They told me that I would have to do it myself but it was possible. So I started a week long adventure of installing GM on my site. Boy, for someone who didn't know CRAP about CGI and HTML that was one of the hardest things I have ever tired. I got it done then while messing with the templates I messed up some code and couldn't fix it so I thought I had broke it so I said "screw it" once again.

V4.0 - Annex Blog - No one knew about this blog really. I was asked by Mike to test out some blogging software that he was writing for his company, it has a look exactly like the Gnome's blog so I felt special! I put a few entries in there to test the software and then the big day came!

V5.0 & 5.1 (Current) - MT - You're looking at it folkes! Version 5.1 (the upgrade from MT 1.4 to 2.0 is the .1) I am in love with MT! (until the next big blog software comes out that is, j/k) The flexibility is unlimited. You name it and this software can do it. I plan on staying with it for a long time. Now that I host other blog I should probaly stick with it. I enjoy blogging. It gives me a way to vent my anger and joy to the world (all 5 of my readers that is!) I enjoy your feed back on anything I post. And plan on being loled to sleep by my boring entries for years to come!

V5.12 Same blog, new server, new look.

V6.0 Same blog, new name, new look, same lame posts! Posted by chris at 09:39 PM This Blog
