Now this cuold be bullflop but if this notebook delivers what it claims and has good support and such it is really going to kick some major ass. I have never seen such a huge feature list in my life. Odd thing is is that the GPU that it claims it has has not been announced or shipped by nvidia, so we’ll see what happens. I’d hate to see the pricetag on this thing or the battery life it must have.
Posted by chris at 10:44 AM (6) TrackbacksSo do you have your copy of DOOM3? I have mine reserved at work! $5 gaunteed me a copy in the store and goes toward the purchase price. I’m pumped about this title like everyone else on the planet is. I have a copy of Beta 2 and it toally kicks ass. I know that final will blow the socks off the beta so playing the beta didn’t spoil anything. Shoot half the AI in the game didn’t work. It ran pretty well on my 2100+, 768MB, Geforce 4 TI4200 128mb. But what I am I talking about, you guys already have it reserved! Stupid blogger! (slaps self in face)
Posted by chris at 09:49 AM (0) TrackbacksJust watched the result show from LCS wild card and I am super pumped! Jay won baby! I think if he works on his material a little more I think he could take the competion. His style is great and he represents the idea of all pretty people in show biz. I was kinda nervous watching it even though I could have looked online and saw the results. Congrats Jay, love your stuff and hope you do well throughout. Look for more of my lame cometary coming to a blog near you......thank you......
Posted by chris at 12:32 AM (0) TrackbacksDid you all get your votes in for Jay London on Tuesday? I was a little disappointed in the show. Don’t worry, I was disappointed in Jay as well. From the get-go I didn’t like this episode. I think Jay Mohr’s warm-up stuff really sucked and didn’t really go anywhere. Here’s what I thought of the comedians.
Corey - I saw an attempt at new material. I’m glad he didn’t start with the “This is the ghetto portion of the show. I’m extra ghetto” thing. Never really liked that. He still had the same type of jokes that are funny around the water cooler but I don’t really like on stage.
Bonnie - Bonnie is cute, I’ll give her that, but not funny at all. Her jokes were very forced and some were a long stretch. I don’t think I laughed at all during her proformance.
Jay - I liked some of his stuff, it was nice to see new material from my man Jay. I loved the MasterCard thing! That killed me. He messed up the timing on his “I’m joining a support group, welfare”. That joke could have really used a pause before the punchline. Also the whole “Look at me mam”, “Please like me”, and “It gets better I swear” thing don’t really need to be in there. I think he needs to join his jokes together a little better, I know he has a style to maintain (lol) but it would flow much better than just a string of mostly unrelated jokes. I still like him the best.
Ant - He started his set good by keeping the gay thinig out of it, He is a funny guy but it seems like until the first part of his set that his queerness is all he could talk about. This set was surprisingly good from Ant.
Todd - More good material here. I liked Todd mostly for his crazy antics in the house, not for his stand up stuff. I will admit that the whole Cookie Monster thing was pretty funny.
I have the show from tonight recorded but I wanted to post this first. Now to go watch it! GO JAY!
Posted by chris at 10:41 PM (0) TrackbacksEverything is going pretty well on the job. I knew things would be a lot more strict in terms of how things are done but I am very surprised at how strict things are. But when you stand back and look at them they make total sence. I enjoy the atmosphere and the training from my last job is serving me well. After working with DVDs for about 2 years, switching over to game boxes is nothing at all when dealing with them. Also the idea of people bringing up empty boxes and you having to get the game for them is very similar to Video World. I know it is my second day and there will be things I hate and things I like but taht comes with every job. I’m just glad to have a regular job again and not do the skimp as much as possiblek-make the cash last a few more weeks-thing.
Posted by chris at 10:36 PM (0) TrackbacksI start my new job at GameStop today. I wasn’t supposed to come in til tomorrow but I got called in to work already! I’ll take the hours for sure. My boss won’t be there so I’m not quite as nervous. I think I’ll do just fine, it will just take a little getting used to. At least I know the industry well. Wish me luck!
Posted by chris at 10:26 AM (0) TrackbacksI know I haven’t talked about it on here but I have become a huge fan of Last Comic Standing II. I’m no reallity nut, but I love stand up comedy so this show hits my funny bone just right.
Here are some comments about the people in the house, some gone and some still in the contest:
Todd: I loved Todd, though his stage act was weak you had to love the crazy antics. He had this energy about him that kept the house jumping and people laughing. Sorry to see him go, even though I knew he wouldn’t make it all the way.
Bonnie: Ok, sure she’s the cute one but she also has weak material. Her Ant and Todd has this odd thing going. I agree with Tammy “She is a little slut-bag”. And then she came back when they brought back the “losers” and she had the nerve to say “I don’t like anybody”
Corey: Had some funny stuff, the whole ghetto thing got a little old. Not too incredibly sad to see Corey go.
Ant: Oh geez Ant. I will admit that Ant was pretty funny and can have fun with the whole gay thing. Not that I support them in anyway. I got really tired of the aliances and the teaming up against people.
Jay: Jay, Jay, Jay. God I loved this guy! He made me laugh soo many times, he is my pick to get the wildcard slot. His style is so unique and he is just so lovable, I think you can’t completely get him in the 5 minutes they gave him. He was such a gentleman about everything. Favorite quote “This has been the best time of my life, It’s been a pleasure being here. Thank you” Such a great great man. If he is within 100 miles here, I’ll have tickets.
Gary: Not a ton to say about Gary. But I do like that he has a lot of good material and changes it up at about every show. It shows that he doesn’t have to use an “A” set. I don’t like that he was the one who knocked out Jay, but he wasn’t happy about it either.
Cathleen: Not a ton to say about her either, was never incredibly impress about the material but she seems to have a level head and knows what is going on.
Alonzo: Another guy who I tought was a total gentleman. He is funny yet keeps himself low key. He kept himself out of the head-to-head until the end and then showed off his stuff and blew everytone away, he had a lot of potental.
Tammy: The whole mob thing gets old, I know you have to have a ice chipper joke but that one never really made me laugh.
John: John is a zany guy, he keeps moving and keep it interesting. Good luck to him.
I’m not a huge fan of what stuff goes on in the house but I love the head to heads. I can’t wait til we see what america likes. From forums I’ve read it looks like there is a lot of people who like Jay and I hope that helps him get back in the finals.
I’ll keep you up with my thoughts on how things go.
GO JAY!
I’m not biased at all. Thank you…

Posted by chris at 10:02 AM (0) TrackbacksSaturday I headed to Indy for the 11th anual Ciba Indy Nite Ride. It was my first tour ever, I’ve always used my bike as a transportation device and a workout tool, but this was the first time I have ever toured. I will admit I had a blast. We went with my two brother here in town, his HAM radio buddy and his girlfriend. Got there around 4 to register since we didn’t get our butts in gear and pre-register. After that we headed to Rick’s girlfriend’s house to drop off our overnight bags and un-needed junk. After that is was off to the Aristocrat tenderloins and beer. After that we headed back to the house to chill and get our gear ready for the night. When we got there we got to watch some sweet bike racing at the Indy Melodrome. I have never seen bike racing in real life and I will say it was pretty cool stuff. I shot a few pics with my brother’s phone, once he emails them to me I’ll post them. Anyway, after that we headed back to the van to grab the 4 bikes (1 road, 2 mountain, and one tandum) I had to mount my headlight since my old one died. We had to have full front and back lights per Indiana code.
They had a kewl “Lite up your bike” contest. Where a few guys decked out their bikes with kewl lights. They had everything from lit spokes to a sign on the back of their bike reading “NITE RIDE” that flashed. I didn’t know about the contest or I would have rigged up some PC stuff on mine!
After that they started us on your ride. There were about 2500 riders in this event, there would probably be more but that is all that Indy will give them a permit for. They had to stagger the start because they were blocking traffic for us through the entire town and they had to let traffic go every few minutes so it would not stop the entire town. As I went by each police officer I thanked them for their help.
Total distance for the ride was about 21 miles according to my brother’s GPS watch. We went by the state capitol, the Indy circle, the children’s museum and probably some more famous places but I don’t know downtown Indy that well so who knows. We took things easy because for once we were out to enjoy a ride. It was quite enjoyable, you always had someone to ride with and talk to. Our group carried FRS radios so we could break out and find reach other , and if all failed we all had our cells with us.
One guy we passed was ticked that he couldn’t get accross the route and he was bitching at a police officer about it. The cop gave it right back at it.
Guy: I need to get across this damn road
Cop: Sorry, I can’t let you across
Guy: Why do the get to stop the entire town for just damn bikes?
Cop: Hey, I don’t have a problem with this, and you shouldn’t either
Guy: This is bullshit
Cop: If you say another word I’m hauling you off to jail
I don’t know what came of the situation becuase I road out of earshot. But I hope he mouthed off some more so they would haul him in. Except for that the ride was pretty much uneventful other then just dang relaxing. After the ride they had a local band playing and Fazolies had free food! We went home and hit the sack after the party.
This morning we got up, showered, ran to White Castle for lunch. My Kevin and I had not been there so we thought it would be fun to go. I’ll admit the place is not as bad as some poeple say. Just don’t take a date there. Then we stopped at BGI (Bike Garauge Indy) and then it was off to Dick’s sporting good where I picked up a nice lawn chair (the all clothe ones) for $5 each (college furniture).
Overall it was a great weekend. I’m looking forward to more tours. It’s nice to be able to enjoy scenery instead of getting from point a to point b.
Posted by chris at 10:04 PM (0) TrackbacksGot a call on my cell yesterday from GameStop! They are bringing me on! I have no clue how much I am making or anything but I start thursday as long as my background check goes through, and if it doesn’t the only person I can blame is the RIAA....I’m happy to say the least!
