I’ve been preaching to my clients to switch from using Internet Explorer. Now it looks like the government is also jumping in on the bandwagon. How many times in the last year have you heard of an issue with security in Firefox? I see no advantage to using IE over Firefox. Why live with spyware installing itself without your concent or having to deal with pop-ups anymore? I think people don’t realize that you can surf the web without pop-ups. Their loss I guess. I will continue to preach the good news of Firefox. Wanna good resource help to spread the word? click here.

I know I might get some here but I currently have more confidence in the people writing EE than I do Six Apart. I loved it when it was just Ben and Mena but after they did typepad and such I just think they have slacked from what they once could do. I’ll get the template updated sometime, but for now this will work. Feel free to register. Comment as much as possible to test the system out.

RIAA Protests Digital Radio:
It looks like the RIAA wants regulations put on digital radio because they fear that people will pirate the “CD Quality” music that digital radio provides.
Digital radio broadcasts that bring CD-quality sound to the airwaves could lead to unfettered song copying if protections are not put in place, a recording-industry trade group warned on Friday. Without copy protections, music fans could cherry-pick songs off the air and redistribute them over the Internet.
If you ask me, I think that consumers should only be entitled to crappy music with hissing, cracking and popping unless we pay monthly royalties to the RIAA. I mean c’mon…why should the customer get good music for free on the radio? And what about people that play their CD’s in public, like at the park? I think everyone who even walks by and hears that music (and didn’t pay for it) should have to pay royalties too. Matter o’ fact, you know when you hear a crappy song on the radio and it gets stuck in your head ALL DAY? The RIAA is missing out on royalties each time that song is playing over and over in your head. The true victim here is the RIAA.
And that is why I read Hard OCP daily! Posted by chris at 10:31 PM RIAA • (0) Trackbacks
AseLabs has a new internet comic called Safe Mode that pokes fun at people who bring their PC’s in to retail store tech support. I guess the days of making fun of the kid in the tech-department at your local retail store are over, they have now turned the tables and shined a spotlight on things their not-so-bright customers do. Rest easy, most of would never use in-store tech support, so these comics aren’t talking about you…are they? [HardOCP]

Yes that is what it looks like. Don't ask me how it got there! My case is completely closed and any openings have fan grills and running fans on them. Crazy stuff. It never stunk but it is pretty dried up now. Who knows. Maybe that explains the random restarts lately. Posted by chris at 04:11 PM Funny Stuff • (0) Trackbacks
Thoughts so far..
I like the simple design. I like how everything is fast and they use javascript for certian tasks instead of reloading the page to display a confirmation. Also the keyboard shortcuts rule! I wish I could have it pull in all the mail from my POP3 accounts so I check them all from one webmail account. That would be sweet. Maybe I'll request the feature.
