Those who voted for IE must have been on drugs. BTW, this page is designed for Firebird, but works in everything else.
This time I'm asking about cell phones. I'm looking into getting a sprint phone but since I don't have a ton of credit I have to put $120 down so I'm going to wait til I return to work. They had a cool flip phone with color screen for $29. Posted by chris at 01:26 AM Poll Results • (26) Trackbacks

Numbness
Went an saw the doctor the other day. Found out that my radial nerve is screwed up so my right arm and hand are numb. It could take weeks to months for feeling to return. Forget touch typing any time soon.

Back from surgery
I got back from the hospital today. My hip and arm are in a good deal of pain. I'll be out of school for probably the rest of this week and all of next week. It kinda sucks but it has to be done. I'm tired of my arm being screwed up.

I'm not as geeky as I thought
These things are never wrong.

You are a geek liaison, which means you go both ways. You can hang out with normal people or you can hang out with geeks which means you often have geeks as friends and/or have a job where you have to mediate between geeks and normal people. This is an important role and one of which you should be proud. In fact, you can make a good deal of money as a translator.

Normal: Tell our geek we need him to work this weekend.
You [to Geek]: We need more than that, Scotty. You'll have to stay until you can squeeze more outta them engines!
Geek [to You]: I'm givin' her all she's got, Captain, but we need more dilithium crystals!
You [to Normal]: He wants to know if he gets overtime.

Stupid Work
I was told at work tonight that I MUST have a release from the doctor before I can return to work after surgery. I see why they would want one. But I didn't need one last time I had surgery. From what I heard them say they are worred that returning to work last time contributed to it not healing when it was in no way anyone's fault. I talked to the owner's daughter and she said they have never had any other employee need one before. And they have hired a temp to replace me while I'm out. Let's just say as soon as I can I'm going to be back in there. I need money for college. I'm planning on just having the doctor write a release that says "Chris can return to work when he feels up to it" which is what he told me.

College Road block
I called Ball State (BSU) yesterday to check on the status of my application. I've been getting notices that they need my SAT scores. Strange thing is that I had BSU as a college for my scores to be sent to. I then sent in a copy of the "school" copy of my results. But then I was told that it wasn't valid because it wasn't signed or sealed by the HS. That kinda irked me off. I was told that some of the results that were to go to colleges got lost in the mail. Well why the heck didn't they let us know that? Nice to know my $25 went to my scores getting lost in the mail. Anyway I went to the office today, had them sign and seal the thing and I'll send it tomorrow. If this doesn't do it then some balls are getting chopped in the near future.

Bad News
I was planning to go see the doctor another month from now but that got changed. I had some nasty pain in my arm for the last couple weeks due to the broken screw in there. So we called up the doctor and scheduled an appointment which was today. He was surprised to see me since he wasn't expecting us so soon. I told him that I had been having a lot of issues with pain. He thought that it could be due to the fact tat I know that there is something screwed up in my arm and that my brain is just making up the pain. I tol him that I highly doubt that, I have a high pain tollerance and it just started. After feeling the arm for soreness (a sign of heeling) he felt a pop in the arm. Ended up that with little force he could more the 2 peices of bone. That's right, I have a plate in there but yet it's moving around.
After the X-Rays we decided that surgery was about the only way to fix it. They are going to take bone out of my hip and put it in my arm. The surgery is planned for the 17th of this month and I'll probably mis up to a week of school and work due to taking the bone out of my hip, he said it wouldn't screw up my hip but it might be sore for a few days afterward. The surgery is considered out patient but I will be in the hospital for 23 hours (enough for the insurance to consider it out patient).
I'm not looking forward to it but I'm tired of living with a screwed up arm. I've lived with it for 7 months now and it's getting annoying to not be able to lift things and do the things I like to do such as track and PE which I had to drop both.
Just wish I could get wifi in the hospital. Posted by chris at 12:03 AM ArmBreak 2003 • (15) Trackbacks
