Another day in debate
Hello from debate class. I have to research the whole year round school issue. I was put on the team for it. I really wouldn't want to have it but that is how the straws went. I did bring my notebook with me today because the computers here at school have everything blocked and are slow as hell. Didn't bring the router just found an open ethernet jack. This is a short week this week so we debate thursday. I think this debate should go well. Better then the last few. I'll tell you'll about them later.

Legal Music Downloads
I've tried out the MusicMatch Music store. It's pretty nice, I like the way they have it setup. I have purchased 2 albums to try out the service. The quality seems pretty good at 160k WMA's. My only issue with it is that I can't play the files I purchased in Winamp, I hope they write like a plugin for Winamp so it still does the DRM (digital rights management) but will allow me to listen to them on one of my 3 aloted machines. Other than that it seems sweet. I should allow me to put them on my Nomad Zen and burn CDs. Its nice to have a GOOD way to BUY music online on the PC. The RIAA can't sue me for legal WMAs.

Valley, technophobes
Why does my school have to be soo afraid of technology? Seriously? I know our school is in the middle of a corn field but they can still embrace technology. Wehn i bring in my notebook to do some work on it at school I get death stares from everyone including the teachers and the admins. Why? I know of schools where you must have a laptop to go. They are a great way to organize your stuff and take notes in class. But I would want WIFI in school and that isn't going to happen. Sometimes if I want wireless access at school I'll take my extra router and just plug it into an open ethernet jack. The bad thing is that the walls in the school are soo thick that they limit my wifi access to around a room or 2 from the router. I know a lot of the teachers would love to have wireless for their school provided notebooks. They now have to carry really long ethernet cables and people trip over all the time. I know the school has money, you can't say they don't. I also get weird looks when I bring my digital camera to school. No one at my school likes to get their picture taken. I love to shoot pics but I hate to get stares at funny. I do shoot pics for the yearbook but i keep that on the low. If you take pictures of girls they think you are stalking them and if you take pics of guys then you are I hate that! Oh well, not too much longer at taht school then its off to college where that technology is accepted. But the bad thing to leaving TVHS is leaving the girl I love. I'm torn.

Long Hard work pays off
After a month of hard work and 143 email AlphaGeek Webdesign is proud to present It's My Life. This site is a personal blog for Brandon, a musician in Korea. He loves his bass and loves to dive. He has some cool stuff up on the site such as 100 bass tabs, bass art and band toons. We're currently working on forums and chat for the site. Stop by and see what this cool guy has to say. Also look for his band's site in the coming months.

Are you ready for some football?
I'm headed down to the RCA Dome, home of the Colts, to watch our high school football team play in a confrence game in the dome. I have a field pass for the day to take yearbook pictures. My Olympus 3030Z will get a workout today, I hope to take a couple hundred pictures. I had to work my butt off to go, I had a heck of a time getting the day off work and then had trouble finding a ride, but it should be fun. I'll post a few pics when I get back.

Monty Python on Broadway?
First sighted on Yahoo News, it would seem that Eric Idle of Monty Python fame is working on a Broadway musical adaptation of everybody's favorite source of accurate medieval data, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The goal is 2005, and the working title is Spamelot (and not Spamalot, contrary to what an AP wire claims). And as a bonus to all you North-American Python fans, Eric Idle is soon to be touring in Canada and the US. {Via Slashdot}

New Server
My site has moved to a new home. It went from a duel 1.1ghz machine to a duel 2.4ghz P4 machine with 2gb ram. It seems pretty fast. The migration didn't go as planned. My site and one of my clients sites were slightly screwed up in the process. I've reported my displeasure to the company and hope we get compensated or something. I'm glad to be on a faster server but rather ticked at the migration issues.

Vietnam Memorial Visits Mentone, IN
I had a busy day full of fun stuff. But that isn't as important as what I did this evening.
I didn't hear about it until this past week butI learned that that traveling Vietnam Memorial wall was going to be in a local town (around 5 min away). Now I personally don't know anyone who died in nam but I like to remember those who were at war. I know I could never do it. Yes, I did register for selective services the other day but that is cause I had to. These were very brave men.

Click here for more pics I took of the wall
