School Sucks
As you may or may not know, I have been sick the last few days, and that has given me tons of free time to work on this blog (tee hee hee). But today I had to go back to school, I lucked out that today was a 1/2 day. During Lunch I tried going down to my lab and post a blog but for some reason the server was getting nailed with TONS of traffic and I couldn't get through to it. I was ticked to say the least.
But when I got home the site was back up and zipping along. I played with the CSS of the site and added a few more blogs over on the right. If I forgot anyone I am truely sorry and feel to email and I will gladly add you. If you have suggestions or feedback feel free to leave it below. I will post a TRUE blog entry tonight! Ok, after playing with the template files and the style sheets I think I have this setup the way I like it. If course I say that now and I will change my mind later but, HEY, I'm a webmaster! I can do whatever you want!! *grin*

Sounds good to me!
At our church we added on a new building to give us a new fellowship area, a new kitchen, new gym, and more class rooms. And during the winter we move all our survices to the new building, name the Family Life Center (FLC). Moving the services to the new building saves us a lot on heating and cooling.
And since I am the sound guy at church it is my duty to get sound out in the FLC. But we only have one system in the church and that is built into the old part. So I did some shopping. I had a very limited budget but I ended up borrowing and bumming my way to get us part of a system and the rest I filled with stuff I stole from the old system. Well since winter is supposed to be over we are moving back into the old building for our services. So tonight I took 2 good hours away from the PC and ripped down the system in the new building rewired some stuff in the old part that desprately needed it. ERGH!!!
I'm on the end of my nerves right now!!! I am trying to get MT to make my blog look cool and I am editing the CSS correctly and then uploading it and it still doesn't like me. I have rebuilt it like 3 times, still nothing happens!!! I'm a little ticked. I might ask Mike to help me out since I don't know anything about CSS and I am using a CSS editor. "Ah, the joys of being a webmaster!!"

I have moved from Mike's Blogging Software and I am going to start bloggin with this software. I like it pretty well but I want to tweak around with the templates and make it look more my style.

These Guys ROCK
If you didn't know it before you do now!! Gred Hard and Leo Laporte KICK ASS!!! Here's why!
I am just a lonely (extemely lonely) webmaster who likes to sit at his machine and kick out pretty little webpages for everyone's little eyes to see!!! But I am cheap, very cheap, I don't make cash off of ANY of this. I do it all for the sport you could say.
So when I started my Sarah Lane, Segment Producer for TechTV's "The Screen Savers", I knew that I was not going to make any cash off the site but I wanted to do it for kicks and giggles. I started the site on my own personal server over at http://www.chrishileman.com. But I only had 100 mb of server space and only 50 was open and on top of that my host only gave me 1.5 gb of of bandwidth each month to work with. But after the site was lauched I started getting as much as 1800 hits per day and that started to kill my alocated bandwidth. So I started shopping around for a new cool host for the Sarah fansite. I talked to Mike (the cool guy who gave me this blog) but he thought I might bog down one of his servers, so I looked other places. Of course I have no cash to work with so I put in a few request for server space from a few friends but none of them said they could handle the site. Then one day I got an instant message from one of the guys from TSS Addicts and they offered me a large chunk of server space and a CRAP LOAD of bandwidth! So I jumped at the idea. I am currently putting the site up right now. I also registered a domain name for the site. The switch should be done by the end of the week. Fun Fun!!
Also Leo Laporte from TechTV has moved his site from Nacio over to one of Mike C's servers @ Annex.com because his old host server just couldn't keep up with the traffic. When he moved he also moved to a new peice of message board software. Sooooo I knew he would have a copy of Discus 4 Pro laying around not being used. So I got on the ball and threw him a quick email asking if he would donate it to the Sarah Lane Fansite. He replied say he would be glad to!!!!! I am pretty physiced about it. I havn't even been given the software yet but I should get it soon.
So to Greg and Leo. I can't thank you enough!!!
Mike your rock too!!

Digital Cam
I am still looking at the digital camera that I have had my eye on for more then a year now. The cool thing now is that I have a job and I hope to be able to get it iwthing the next few months. The Olympus 3030Z is the camera I want and with the assories that I want with it, it will cost me $650.

God am I a looser
I have to the BIGGEST loser on the internet, no wait, make that the world. Today was a great–– day, it was like 50*F out side, the sun was out, the birds are starting to come back from the south. And I am sitting on my ass starring at my frickin' computer screen. I was working on a frickin' message board for over 5 hours. I am usually proud to be a geek. But I am sorry, I'M F*CKING LONELY!! After I did the message board thing I went out for a, what I thought would be an enjoyable run. But of course that couldn't even go well. My leg was killing me the whole 5 miles.
On my way back from my run my dad and step mom went by in the truck, they were going to some sweet heart dinner crap thing. Personally I don't they should have ever gotten married. I hate her, but if I went into detail then this blog entry would be extremely long. But anyway I spent the rest of the night just kinda surfing around to random sites on the net. Listening to the same MP3's that I have had for the last 2 years. Ended up shutting them up and trying to watch some TV. That didn't help, there was nothing good on. Figures, 130 channels and there is nothing good on. Piece of crap.
That my friend, is why I'm such a retarded looser, I sit @ my PC 24/7, I can't get a date even if I pay a girl. I can't drive. I don't have a job. What else could go wrong??? I doubt anything. Oh screw it!! Posted by chris at 12:15 AM Personal •

Ok, it's a 3 day weekend. So I thought since I had extra time I would take on the task of upgrading my message board from Discus 3.1 to Discus 4.0b. I thought it would take me about an hour or so. Of course I had Oatmeal Pies and Dr. Pepper in stock for this event
I first installed the "update" which killed the entire board which I was a little ticked about. Next I installed a fresh copy of Discus 4 on my server and then imported my messages from the 3.1 into the new board. This took me over 3 hours to do. Next I had to customize the board to my likings.
