Jessie's Girl This is for my friend at school, he loves this song, mainly cause his name is Jessie. He needs a girl before we can envy him though. Here's the song though.

CC Season starts Cross Country season is officially started today. We've been practicing for about 3 weeks but we had our first meet tonight. Of course I injured myself and my time was hidious but hey, it didn't count for anything! Plus is was humid as crap out. The locals will vouch for that! Home, Home on the Range I was supposed to have a track meet this morning. I got up around 10am and jumped online and read my normal blogs. After my fill of reading, I jumped in the shower. Now that I was nice and refreshed I threw my track uniform on. This entire time I was preping myself for my races. I was to run the 4X800 relaty, 1600 m run, and the 800 m run. So I jumped in the truck and headed over to the school. I hit the locker room and put on my running spikes. Jogged out to the track, talked to coach for a few. Ran 2 muscle awakening laps. Stretched a little then did 4 more warmup laps and stretched with the rest of the team. Ran back over to coach to get some final instructions before my first race. Jogged over to the start/finish line. They had the "AccuTrack" setup (a photographic timing system) and saw that all the coaches had been standing around the athletic director. I didn't think too much of this since he always does this before meets. But when I listened in on the conversation I learned that a large storm was headed our way. It was raining at a steady pace by then but usually track will go unless it's like snowing. But after all the coaches talked it over they decided, for the safety of the runners that they would call off the meet with no resceduling. By this time it was 1:30 and I was pumped and ready to run.

I went and talked to my friend Ryan and we decided that since we had already put all this effort into it that we would at least run a mile before we headed home. Needless to say I was a little ticked about the whole thing. But, such is life. Posted by chris at 04:10 PM CC/Track

Dog Days of Spring Holy crap!! It's been hotter then hell out here (and it's not because of me this time). It's been averaging around 85*F out here!!

This all wouldn't be too bad if I didn't have to spend so much time outside!! Track has been the real killer, coach V. has been nailing us with hard workouts everynight. I know it's good for me but a hard 6 mile run in hot weather the night before an important meet is kinda stupid! I yelled at him for it, it made me do horrible! (I'm not telling ANY times). So tonight we did sprints, those are pretty easy, I really need the speed workout so I was happy.

Why am I telling you all of this even though I KNOW you don't know much about track and the thinking that goes in to it? Because I'm a little ticked at my coach and myself and need to vent a little steam. Thanks for listening! Posted by chris at 11:59 AM CC/Track

CC Meet I had a Cross-Country meet today, I ran the last race of the day so when I ran it was 11:00 AM so it was already really hot so it is nasty to run in.

Also, I have combined the site news with my Blog, it is just better for me to update one thing. So if you have missed my blog it will not be here. Posted by chris at 06:40 PM CC/Track
